An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday remanded a 43-year-old businessman, Emeka Orisakwe, who allegedly defiled his three daughters. The police charged Orisakwe, who resides at Maza Maza, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos State, with sexual assault. Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje, who did not take Orisakwe’s plea, ordered that he should be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre. The surgery is in collaboration with MultiAid and Charity Initiative, Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria and Yakubu Gowon Foundation. Obstetric fistula, also known as Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) is an abnormal fistulous tract extending between the bladder and the vagina that allows the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault. The Minister of Water Resources, Mr Suleiman Adamu, says that protection of water catchments in Nigeria, especially in densely populated areas is no longer an option but a requirement. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says N472.07 billion was generated as Company Income Tax (CIT) in Quarter Two (Q2, 2021) as against N392.64 billion generated in Q1. The NBS said this on Wednesday in Abuja in its “Company Income Tax By Sectors Q2, 2021” data published on its website. The sum which reflected an increase of N79.43 billion over Q1 also reflected an increase of N70.04 billion over N402.03 billion that was generated in Q2, 2020.
