Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu has approved the release of N44.4 million for payment of compensation to owners of lands acquired for the construction of solar power plant in the state. This is contained in a statement by Mahmud Warra, the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi. The Debt Management Office (DMO) has released a calendar for the issuance of bonds for the first quarter of 2022 (Q1-2022). The calendar shows that on Jan. 16, DMO will issue a N70 billion to N80 billion, four years and 20 years Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) bond, with interest rate of 12.50 per cent. Sokoto state government is partnering the African Development Bank (AfDB) to set up ranches and grazing reserves in parts of the state. The African Development Bank (AfDB) says Sokoto state will benefit from the $20 billion Desert-to-Power initiative intended to provide on-grid and off-grid power to parts of the sub-Saharan Africa.
