The Ogun government on Friday said that it had established 200 hectares of cassava farm for youth farmers in the third batch of the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme. Dr Adeola Odedina, the Commissioner for Agriculture, said this during an inspection tour to the farmland at Ikenne in Ogun. The Police Command in Akwa Ibom has approved the deployment of 7,194 personnel for the local government elections, scheduled for October 31 in the state. The command also ordered restriction of movement in the state from 7 am. to 2 pm. on the election day. The Spokesman of the command, SP Odiko Macdon, announced this in a statement issued in Uyo on Friday. The UN World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with the Kenyan government, on Friday, launched cash transfers to help 24,000 families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in informal settlements in the coastal city of Mombasa. Lauren Landis, the WFP’s country director for Kenya, said this in a statement issued in Mombasa. The Niger Government on Friday condemned all acts of brutality melted on civilians and personnel of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) across the country. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), says it remitted N344.71 billion into the Federal Government’s Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) in the last five years.
