Heavy gunfire was heard in the area of the presidential palace in Niger’s capital around 3:00 a.m. local time (0200 GMT) on Wednesday. The sound from the gunshot lasted for about 30 minutes, according to residents. Other shots were also heard early in the morning in the area of Niamey International Airport, where Niger’s military base was located. The Federal government, on Tuesday, warned Nigerians to undergo tests before taking anti-malarial treatment, because not all fevers are symptoms of malaria. Tech giant, Apple Inc. (AAPL), is expanding its ‘Independent Repair Provider’ (IRP) programme to more than 200 countries. Nearly every country where Apple sells its products will be covered under the IRP. The programme offers repair providers access to genuine parts, tools, repair manuals and diagnostics for out-of-warranty repairs. The Federal government on Tuesday in Benin said that the Japanese government has offered $18.2 million (about N40.6 billion) financial support to strengthen Nigeria’s health sector.
