World Health Organisation (WHO) on Sunday said total funding committed to the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT-Accelerator) partnership remains $15.1 billion with a gap of over $16 billion. Dangote Industries Limited says its urea fertiliser currently pushes out a minimum of 120 trucks per day across the country to meet local demands and exports. Mr Devakumar Edwin, Group Executive Director, Strategy, Capital Projects and Portfolio Development, Dangote Industries Limited, made this known  in a statement on Sunday. The Would Health Organisation says blood stocks in the African region have declined over the last year as fewer people have been donating blood during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Matshidiso Moeti, (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, said it was due to travel restrictions and worries of infection that prevented individuals from attending donation centres. “There are still around seven million patients who require this life-saving product in African countries every year,” she said. The Bauchi state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Sunday, said that six people lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident in Gumero village of Ganjuwa local government area of the state. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC),says it recorded eight new COVID-19 infections in two states; Akwa Ibom- four and Rivers- four as of June 12. The NCDC in an update posted on its website on Sunday morning, said that the infection figure raised the country’s total infection tally to 167,059.
