The Borno Police on Saturday confirmed the death of eight policemen and three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, during the attack on the convoy of officials of the state government. The spokesperson of the command, DSP Edet Okon also disclosed in a statement released in Maiduguri, that 13 others were injured. The branded varieties comprise 6 released varieties and 4 yet-to be-released varieties. The released varieties and their new names are as follows: IBA961632 (Farmer’s Pride), IBA980581 (Dixon), CR36-5 (Ayaya), IBA070593 (Sunshine), and IBA980505 (Fine face). Traders shops at the Ajegunle plank section of the boundary market in Lagos, have been razed by fire. The spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Mr Nosa Okunbor confirmed that some shops were gutted by fire late Friday night, adding hat the cause of the fire remained unknown. Okunbor said that the fire was combated head-on by fire fighters from the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) and the Federal Fire Services. Troops of Sector 2 (Chad), Multinational Joint Taskforce (MNJTF), have rescued 12 hostages from the Boko Haram terrorists enclave near Barkalam in Lake Chad. The Chief of Military Public Information, MNJTF, Col. Muhammad Dole, disclosed this in a statement in Ndjamena, Chad and made available to news men on Saturday. A Police sergeant, Bello Garba on Friday shot a 25-year old Aminu Abdulrahman dead and injure two others, Junaidu Abba, Babangida Muhammad and Awaisu Alti, at Independence Day prayers organised by Sokoto state government.
