The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed as false, the purported suspension of former Kano State Governor, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja on Sunday, the PDP also said former governor of Niger, Babangida Aliyu was also not suspended. The Nigerian Army says the troops of 27 Task Force Brigade on the platform of Operation Lafiya Dole have arrested suspected Boko Haram informant identified as Modu Ari, in Kamuya area of Yobe. An 18 seater bus on Sunday plunged into the Owena River on the Akure Ondo road in Ondo State. An eye witness account stated that the driver of the bus who was coming from the Ondo town axis and heading toward Akure lost control as a result of speeding and plunged into the river. The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) on Sunday declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the overall winners of the just concluded Local Government Area elections. The elections held on April 17, in Rivers state. A prosecuting witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Salisu Shuaibu has been revealed to be the alleged owner of the Halal Fountain Hotel (Annex), in Kaduna.
