The possibility of shifting the date for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is very high, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, JAMB made this known during a virtual meeting with 2021 UTME committee members on Friday. Oloyede disclosed that over 600,000 candidates who indicated interest in sitting for the exams, are yet to register. The exam is scheduled to hold between June 5 and June 19. The Zamfara police command says it arrested five notorious suspects involved in banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and illegal possession of firearms. A citizen of Niger Republic, Shehu Ali Kachalla, who is a notorious gunrunner, confessed that he had been in the business for more than three years. Two unknown gunmen have been killed in a joint operation carried out by the Nigerian Army, Air Force and the Police in Imo. The World Bank says remittance inflows to Nigeria declined by 28 per cent in 2020 because of COVID-19 pandemic.
