The PDP Governors’ Forum has urged the National Assembly, NASS, on resumption to immediately set up its Conference Committee to harmonise the different versions of the Electoral Act Amendment Bills passed by both Chambers. The forum made the appeal in a statement by its Chairman and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal on Tuesday in Abuja. President Muhammadu Buhari has sought approval of Senate for external loan as addendum to the 2018 to 2021 Federal Government’s external borrowing plan. Buhari’s request was contained in a letter addressed to President of Senate Ahmad Lawan and read at plenary on Tuesday. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced a probe into how N11 billion contracts were awarded by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF). The commission is also probing how the Fund spent N1.6 billion grant provided by the federal government for its take-off. The invitation letter dated September 6, 2021 and signed by Director of Operations, Akeem Lawal of the commission was addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Fund. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) has directed all successful second batch Narcotic Assistant (NASS) candidates to report for training between Friday, Dec. 3 and Monday, Dec. 6. This is contained in a statement by the agency’s Director Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi and issued to newsmen on Monday in Abuja. The agency had initially fixed Sept. 25 for the training. According to Babafemi, successful candidates (Narcotic Assistants) are to report at the NDLEA Academy, Kotton Rikus, in Jos, with some documents. North Korea said Monday that it successfully tested newly developed long-range cruise missiles over the weekend, the first known testing activity in months, underscoring how the country continues to expand its military capabilities amid a stalemate in nuclear negotiations with the United States.
