The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the publishers of ‘Macmillan Publishers Nigeria’ and two others over alleged $922 million fraud.
The EFCC, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said that the publisher and the two others identified as Prof. Adesanya Iyiola Adelekan and Bola Fasasi have been arraigned on six counts bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretense.
A tweet made in this regard by the EFCC on its official Twitter handle read “The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned Macmillan Nigeria Publishers alongside Prof. Adesanya Iyiola Adelekan and Bola Fasasibefore Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos for an alleged $922m fraud.
“The defendants were arraigned on Thursday, February 2, 2023, on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretense to the tune of $922m (Nine Hundred and Twenty-two Million United State Dollars),”
