ASHENEWS reports that a practitioner at Life Healings Hospital, Dr. Biodun Adewumi, has advocated for a relaxation in dress codes by organizations in response to the prevailing heat waves across the country.
Speaking on Wednesday, Dr. Adewumi said that it is important to consider the health of workers while protecting their organizations’ policies.
He stressed that allowing employees to dress more comfortably during hot weather not only safeguards their health but also boosts productivity.
“The current heat wave demands precautionary measures to prevent health risks. Organizations, including banks and corporate offices, should show leniency in their dress codes to ensure the well-being of their staff,” he stated.

Dr. Adewumi highlighted the challenges faced by workers in offices without adequate cooling systems, questioning the rationale behind stringent dress codes under such circumstances.
“Some offices do not even have fans or air conditioners, and those that have do not have light to power them.
“So, why suffer the workers by insisting on certain dress codes with the increased heat everywhere?
“This is a plea for compassion, and I hope organizations consider it,” he remarked.
While advising the public to stay hydrated and seek shade when outdoors, Dr. Adewumi cautioned against consuming coffee or hot beverages during hot weather.
