Police Trust Fund: Forum pledges support for Executive Secretary

The Sokoto State Youths Enlightenment Forum, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing the 2019 APC Gubernational Candidate and former Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Sokoto, as the Pioneer Executive Secretary, Police Trust Fund.

The forum has also renewed its unflinching and unalloyed loyalty to the sterling leadership styles and qualities of the APC Leader in Sokoto State,  former Governor and now a serving Senator , representing Sokoto North Senatorial District,  Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto, Thursday  by the forum and signed by its State Chairman , Alhaji Bashiru Abubakar.

The statement said:” This singular commendable gesture of the President was an expression of the love and respect he has for the people of the state, especially the leaders of our dear party, APC.”

The forum also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for initiating myriad of policies and programmes aimed at further  reducing the high rate of unemployment and poverty in the country .

” We are also calling on youths to be law abiding by engaging in the programmes like N-power program introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, with the aim of making Nigerian youths productive and self-reliant.

“We are ready to partner with any Governmental or Non Governmental Organization that is aimed at developing what will bring purposeful leadership to improve the living standard of the people,” it added.

Meanwhile, the forum has described the former Governor of Sokoto State and a serving Senator, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  as a,” Political Engineer of every magnitude and a workaholic leader.”

“For those who do not know the history of Senator Wamakko, he is a political giant and also an Icon of peace, who is always ready to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people. He has the talent to advise on how to come out with strategies on nation building, besides leadership, he is very simple, humane, humble and generous to humanity, without consideration for where one comes from and seeks the advice of the people in all he does.

“His foresight, courage and unparalleled simplicity made him to initiate projects that will not only bring peace to the people living in the state, but make Muslims and Christians to see themselves as their brother’s keeper.  Senator Wamakko has also been described as a good Ambassador of peace to many other teeming Nigerian Youths, through his initiative of common ground for many youths.”

According to the forum, Senator Wamakko has justified himself as an exemplary leader whose personal qualities and administrative proficiency demonstrated in the last five years of his stewardship as a Senator brought a new lease of life to the people of Sokoto state.

“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate the laudable efforts of Senator Wammako for sponsoring a substantial number of Sokoto state indigenes to study various courses in Nigerian Universities and abroad. Senator Wamakko has also introduced free eye care treatment for people having various eye ailments across Sokoto state, as a result of which thousands or people had benefited from the programme.

Senator Wamakko distributed millions of naira worth of Coronavirus Disease prevention items to the Sokoto North Senatorial District  and the state at large.

“Senator Wamakko drilled fifty boreholes in eight local governments, to boost farming activities across Sokoto North District, while. Senator Wamakko has also donated twelve ( 12), electricity transformers, across the zone. The mission of Sokoto Youth Enlightenment Forum is to promote the interests of youth across the state and the country at large.

“We all believe that, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Daular Usmaniyya, is the salvager of our Constituency, Sokoto State , Northern Region and Nigeria at large,” the forum, concluded .
