I can fabricate any machine by mere description and am open to partnerships with governments, private individuals and corporate organisations

He holds a certificate in primary education, which he obtained at the Aljannare Primary School in Tambuwal local government area of Sokoto state. The 52-year-old Usmanu Abubakar has the ability of fabricating all types of machines, including thresher, grains dehulling and for mining operations.
He fabricates multipurpose machines, and powered by diesel, petrol or electricity, depending on the preference of his customers.

“I fabricate machines that dehull soybeans, millet, beans, pearl millet, maize, wheat, and rice,” Abubakar told ASHENEWS in an exclusive interview at his shop in Aljannaje.
His workshop is filled with fabricated machines and metal scraps, for the business, which, according to him, he ventured into in 2001 without formal training.
Apart from multipurpose dehulling machines that he has fabricated, Abubakar has also invented grinding machines, stem crusher and other machines for mining purposes. “Apart from dehullers, I fabricate crushing machines that are used for mining, grinding and stem crushers.”

According to him, the efficiency and durability of his fabricated machines is better than the foreign-made machines. “In a day, one machine can dehull 50 bags of grains straight up. On performance, I have never never received any complain of any kind from users of our product so far.”
Corroborating Abubakar’s claim on the efficiency and durability of the machines, Yahuza Tambuwal, a client, said, “I have been using these machines for roughly four years now, dehulling varieties of grains. They are durable. In a day, I dehull 40 bags of grains or even more which is incomparable to the foreign machine, you can imagine how fast it is. And for all these years, the machines have not gone faulty.”
Abubakar told ASHENEWS that be mere description, he could fabricate any grain processing machine and would achieve the goal for which it is tailored. “Just describe any machine to me and I will fabricate.”
Speaking on apprentice, Abubakar said he was never taught by anyone how to fabricate machines. “This business is a blessing bestowed upon me by God. The things I do, and how I do them are clear inspiration from God. He is my teacher. Most of the time, ideas come to me when I am praying.”

On his main challenge, the fabricator said lack of support from and patronage by government were his major challenges. “There has been no support or patronage from government or any organization its only me and my family. No motivation of any sort.
Abubakar said he is opened to partnership with investors and the government in order to boost productivity. “It will be a boost for us if we can get support even. I assure you that we can fabricate most of these imported machines if we have the support. Once we fabricate them, with access to loan, we can mass-produce them and even export them to our neighbouring countries,” he told ASHENEWS with pride.
This platform observes that if people with ingenuity like Abubakar have the necessary support, there will be paradigm shift in the area of the importation of basic machines used by, especially in the localities.
