The acting Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has launched the Ilorin Clinic and office of the Centre for Complementary and Alternative Therapy of the institution.
He said that the launch of the centre is a way of bringing products and services closer to the people.
He added that the contributions of the centre to the health needs of people necessitated its strategic siting in KWASU’s Conference Centre in Ilorin.
The acting vice chancellor described the centre as “another trail blazing community development initiative of the university.
“The centre has also commenced six months training programme in Naturapathy to equip alternative health therapists with better knowledge that would enhance their practice.
”The programme is structured to deliver concise knowledge on alternative therapies and on completion, participants will receive a KWASU endorsed certificate.”
The acting Board Chairman of the centre, Prof. Emmanuel Ajani, said that the training programme of the centre would equip participants with better knowledge of natural and alternative therapies.
