ASHENEWS reports that the Lavun Community Radio has trained its editorial staff on community and investigative reporting to improve their reporting and production capacity.
The two days training which is supported and funded by the Nigeria Media Innovation Program (NAMIP) took place in Minna on Saturday, aimed at improving the professionalism and revenue flow of the radio station and to chart innovative ways of presenting the local community to the global world.
According to the Training Coordinator, Mustapha Ahmed, the objective of the training was to equip the staff on investigative and community reporting which would reposition the organization towards the effective takeoff of its online presence.
“The training will help the staff to be more professional in their production and reporting skills and to meet up with modern techniques of journalism.”
The facilitator, Mrs. Blessing Uwechia, a Media Communications and Business Strategist took the participants on how to identify and write news reports, solutions journalism, interviewing, investigative journalism, identifying sources and mapping for content and marketing.
