ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago on Wednesday directed that a filling station situated along Keteran Gwari road in Minna be demolished.
Bago, who also revoked the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of the filling station said that the structure was considered unsafe to be located in a residential area.
Speaking shortly after inspecting the building, the Governor said that the management of the station was earlier notified but failed to heed the government’s warning.
“The people have been complaining incessantly so we directed the management to stop work but they continued. Therefore, I have revoked their C of O and it will be demolished,” he said.
The governor had earlier taken a tour of some roads across Minna, the state capital.
According to the governor, the inspection visit was aimed at assessing the condition of roads in the state as the state government works towards the execution of its urban renewal program.
Areas toured included the city center, Tunga Roundabout, city gate, Chanchaga Road, as well as the Chanchaga Bridge, Pago, Shiroro Road, Kpakungu, and the Old Secretariat/Keteren Gwari Roundabouts.
