The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State Chapter has donated food and sanitary materials to Internally Displaced Persons in Shiroro and Paikoro local government areas of the state.
The State Chairman of CAN, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Yohanna, while speaking at the presentations of the relief materials to the IDPs at the ECWA Church in Paikoro urged them to remain steadfast and prayerful.
The Chairman, who was represented by his Vice, Revd. Ezekiel Ibrahim urged the beneficiaries to accept the modest donations made by the association.
“our prayers are with you always, because we want you to return to your homes soonest,” he said.
While praying, he said “the issue of insecurity and Banditry will soon be a thing of the past. God has heard our cries,”
Receiving the donation on behalf of the IDPs, the Parish Priest of SS Peter & Paul Kafin Koro, Rev Fr. Benedict John Adigizi commended the association for the gesture.
He added that a lot of people were seriously affected and many others have relocated.
“But with the presence of security agencies, some have started returning and the people have started living in peace”, he said.
Items donated by the association include bags of rice, maize, beans, cartons of noodles, gallons of palm oil, groundnut oil, soap and detergent, salt, and seasonings among others.
