ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has hosted heads of security agencies to Ramadan Iftar, and applauded their efforts that has brought relative peace in the state.
This online platform further reports that those at at his official Government House residence, venue of the Iftar, were Permanent Secretaries, Director Generals, Board members, Commission members and Parastatals, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Noel-Berje made available on Thursday.
The governor, while attributing the appreciable peace in the state to the collective efforts of the government and security agents, noted that there is now relative peace in the state, compared to what obtained a few months ago.
“We collectively evolved strategies to move Niger state from security issues to administrative matters. There is synergy among the security agencies which has made it possible to achieve the successes made,” Sani-Bello said.
The Governor also appreciated all the permanent secretaries in the state for providing the needed support to his administration.
According to him, his administration has recorded successes some of which are obvious while others would be better appreciated after exit.
Sani-Bello who noted that he has been able to appoint about 30 Permanent secretaries based on merit, and charged them to extend their support to the next administration.
He also commended all the Director Generals, Board and Commission members as well as all those who have been supportive to his administration.
Speaking on behalf of the heads of security agencies, the state Commissioner of Police, Joshua Ogundele Ayodeji, acknowledged that the security challenges have been tamed to a reasonable level, especially on the issue of youth restiveness in Minna metropolis.
According to him, the security agencies in the state have enjoyed high level support from the governor, describing him as “a listening and supportive Governor”.
Dr. Imam Abubakar who also spoke on behalf of all the Permanent Secretaries, said it is a privilege to work closely with Governor Sani Bello and be part of his success stories.
He assured that the Permanent secretaries will continue to work hard for the benefit of the state.
Special prayers were offered by the Director General of Religious Affairs, Abubakar Rabiu Beji and Dr. Joseph Kolo.
The Governor has hosted past and present State Assembly members, the 8th and 9th State of Assembly members, present and past commissioners as well as former and serving Special Advisers to the special iftar.
