JUST IN: Tambuwal names 28-member transition committee [SEE LIST & TERMS]

The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has approved the appointment of the Transition Committee for handing over to the incoming administration.

This is contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Governor Abdulnasir Abubakar Sanyinna, mailed to ASHENEWS on Monday night.

The committee has the Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya as Chairman and the Secretary to the State Government              Mohammad Mainasara Ahmad, as Co- Chairman.

Members of the committee include the Head of Civil Service, Abubakar Muhammad; the Commissioner Basic & Secondary Education, Muhammad Bello Abubakar and the Commissioner Ministry of Health, Muhammad Lema Abubakar.

Other are Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname; Commissioner of Agriculture, Professor Aminu Abubakar; Commissioner for Rural Development, Isah Bajini Galadanci and Commissioner of Animal Health & Fisheries Development, Professor Abdulkadir Usman Junaidu.

The committee also has the Commissioner of Higher Education, Professor Aisha Madawaki; the Commissioner Ministry of Lands and Housing, Aminu Bala Bodinga; Commissioner for Water Resources, Dahiru Yusuf Yabo and Commissioner for Internal Security, Abubakar Maikudi Ahmed.

The rest are Commissioner Ministry for Local Government, Abdullahi Maigwandu; Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Bashir Gidado Jegawa; Commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs, Kulu Abdullahi Sifawa; Special Adviser on SDGs, Kabiru Aliyu; Special Adviser Primary Health Care Development Agency, Chika Umar; Special Adviser, SOCHEMA, Dr. Amamatu Yusuf and Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Magaji Gusau.

The committee has the Permanent Secretary (Min. of Finance), Dahiru Balarabe Abbas as Secretary and Permanent Secretary (Cabinet Affairs), Bande Moh’d Rikina; Permanent Secretary (Min. of Agric), Abubakar Mohammed; Permanent Secretary (Min of Internal Security), Muazu Abubakar Madawaki; Permanent Secretary (Min of Budget), Arzika Usman Bodinga as co-secretaries, while Abdulkadir Moh’d Ahmad (Director Security), Mahmoud Jabbi Kilgori (A&GSD) and Naziru Bala (Cabinet Affairs) would serve as Assistants Secretaries.

The committee has the following terms of reference:

a. Collate and document from the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) achievements recorded by the present administration from 2015 to 2023.

b. Obtain and analyze reports from MDAs on all ongoing projects/programmes in relation to level of execution/ fiscal profile, constraints etc.

c. Prepare a comprehensive handing over notes to the incoming administration on items a – c above to be ready by Monday, 15th May 2023.

d. Organize befitting swearing-in ceremony in collaboration with the in-coming administration’s team.

e. Make any other effort(s) in ensuring that the next administration receives every support needed to make an early and quick start.
