The Amalgamation of Deregistered Political Parties of Nigeria (ADPPN) on Tuesday endorsed the APC governorship flag bearer of Kaduna, Sen. Uba Sani, in Saturday’s election.
The Secretary of the ADPPN, Amb. Matoh Yakubu, made the endorsement while addressing newsmen at the NUJ secretariat in Kaduna.
Yakubu said the amalgamated parties were deregistered after the 2019 general elections.
He noted that ADPPN had made a name, having been a key participant in the 2015 and 2019 general elections.
“We are therefore here riding on our resourcefulness, contact, and great mobilization skills, cutting across the entire 23 LGAs of Kaduna State, to deploy in deepening our democratic culture, adding flair to service delivery and political leadership.
“Before arriving at this juncture, we consulted widely with our members, network of stakeholders, and opinion leaders; we appraised them of the clear record of achievements of Sen. Uba Sani,” he said.
Yakubu said that the wide-ranging consultations provided them the mandate to make the declaration of support in the news conference.
He noted that they were disturbed by the negative signals coming from some political parties which had decided to create political gimmicks called the“Muslim-Muslim” ticket.
“This phrase is a coinage of the opposition in Kaduna State; the APC only gave voice to our women who have been kept in the backyard for a long and the last four years, the performance of Kaduna State women in governance is clear to everyone to see.
“We state clearly that the combination of Sen. Uba Sani and Dr. Hadiza Balarabe is a strategic strike at the political balancing act.
“This political brinkmanship is giving the opposition a nightmare because the strategy has provided Kaduna State with an unprecedented development strides in the annals of the history of Kaduna State,” Yakubu said.
He said they, therefore, took a cursory look into some of the monumental achievements that elevated Sani above other party candidates.
”Sani is a mentor to many young people in Nigeria, irrespective of tribe, ethnicity, or religion; his foundation is a source of succor to many indigent students through its scholarship scheme.
“He led the struggle for the reduction of the interest payment on soft loans that he facilitated for Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion, ethnicity, or social status,” Yakubu said.
The secretary further noted that their endorsement came with full support to deploy their team to serve as canvassers, street captains, gate-keepers, and anti-rigging squad, to help ensure that the APC and Sani emerge victorious in the governorship election.
He called on the people of Kaduna State to troop out in their numbers and cast their votes for Sen. Uba Sani.
