The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has ordered the Edo City Transport Service (ECTS) to commence free services to customers.
The Governor stated this in a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser on Media Projects to the Governor, Mr. Crusoe Osagie.
According to the statement, the intervention is to alleviate the suffering of residents due to the current cash scarcity in the country.
“The directive is applicable to all routes and is effective till Monday, Feb. 20, after which further announcement would be made on the matter.
”The government calls on the people to remain calm, be law-abiding and we are assuring that normalcy will be restored shortly,” he said.
