2023 campaigns: They’re lairs, can’t provide electricity to roast corn – Tinubu

ASHENEWS reports that the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party of lairs that does not keep promises.

Tinubu who addressed supporters during the APC presidential campaign at the U J Esuene Sports Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State, however, assured the people of the state that his party keeps promises.

The presidential candidate blamed the lack of adequate electricity, privatization of government entities, inflation, and money laundering on the PDP, which he said: “ruled for 16 years, telling lies.”

According to Tinubu, “Don’t mind them, they lied for 16 years; they cannot even provide electricity to roast plantain; they cannot provide electricity to roast corn. They keep telling lies. The electricity that is generated from your hydro dam is centralized, they swallowed it.

“They said privatization, privatization went to their pockets. We say that is the end. Now they want to change your currency, they are the cause for 16 years; they privatize for their pockets, and families; they never understand what inflation is all about; they never understand what money laundering is all about, and were keeping our currency on the dark corner of their homes. If they had arrested these, we won’t be where we are today, we will be greater,” he said.

Tinubu said he would replicate the Lagos state achievements in Nigeria by creating vistas of rare opportunities and prospects.

“We are promise keepers; we mean what we say. When we built Lagos, we said we are going to change Lagos; today Lagos is changed beautifully, functionally, and exceptionally rich.

On his plans for the people of Cross River State, the presidential candidate assured that he will create jobs, turn the landscapes into Miami in Florida, and each Nigerian state will become a wonder of tourism.

Tinubu applauded the duo of John Owan Enoh and Mary Ekpere for respecting his interventions and withdrawing their litigations, assuring that the duo will never regret the sacrifices they made for the unity of the party.

“I want to say thank you to so many of you leaders and particularly John Enoh for that respect and Mary Ekpere. God bless you; you will never regret the sacrifice you made, and your children will never regret the sacrifice you made.”

The National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu who was represented by the Deputy National Vice Chairman (South) said that the party will reward its faithful according to the efforts made.

“Everybody will be paid according to what he has done. Go back to your wards, deliver your wards to APC from head to bottom, thereby abiding by the party instructions and making sure that victory become ours.”

Earlier, Governor Ben Ayade called on Tinubu to, when he becomes president, complete the Bakassi Deep Seaport and SuperHighway, his two signature projects that he could not compete with.

“Don’t forget our Bakassi deep seaport. Cross River people want to see Bakassi deep seaport and want to see the superhighway connecting the southern part of Nigeria to the eastern part of the north, carrying the Atlantic Ocean to kiss the northern part of Nigeria.”
