Hydro Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) on Tuesday, commenced a four-day training for its junior officers to enhance their productivity.

The training held in Minna, was in partnership with the Kano Area Office of Industrial Training Fund (ITF).

The training has as its theme: “Skills Development for Organisational Productivity for Staff of HYPPADEC.”

Managing Director of HYPPADEC, Abubakar Yelwa reiterated the commission’s commitment to training and retraining its lower force to ensure smooth implementation of its programmes.

According to him, updating the knowledge of the lower cadre workforce will further enhance their productivity.

Yelwa said that no fewer than 50 junior officers would participate in the training across the six states covered by the commission.

He urged the participants to obey the rules and regulations and pay attention to the training, as the recognition of performance and promotion would be based on merits.

Mr  Sirajo Tukur, the ITF Area Manager and Head of Training, appreciated the commission for the opportunity to impact knowledge on its workforce and horn their skills through training.

He assured that the workshop would be participatory and practical, for the purpose of achieving the capacity of the staffers, which must be all-inclusive for optimal results and productivity.

A participant, Fatima Abubakar, in an interview, thanked the leadership of the commission for the training opportunity.

She said that the training would go a long way in improving their capacity and productivity.
