As the campaigns for the 2023 general elections kicks off on September 28, 2023, 15 local government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state, have decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Chairmen, loyal to Senator Abubakar Umar Gada who announced their defection on Wednesday, include that of Binji, Bodinga, Goronyo, Gudu, Kebbe, Shagari and Silame local governments areas.
Others are those of Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Ilella, Tambuwal, Tangaza, Tureta, Wamakko and Yabo local governments.
Receiving the decampees, the deputy chairman of the party, Aliyu Muhammad FC assured them of equal treatment with the old members.
He called on them to use their wealth of experience to ensure the success of the PDP at all levels.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the decampees, Umaru Modibbo Tambuwal who is the APC chairman for Tambuwal local government, said they will work hard to ensure the success of PDP at all levels.
