The Zamfara State Board of Internal Revenue Service (ZSBIRS) says it has moved to block all revenue leakages and introduced e-payments, PoS and Remita for all payments in the state.
The state government has also projected revenue generation of N11 billion in the running.
The executive chairman of the board, Akilu Dama told newsmen during a press briefing on Wednesday, that new strategies were adopted to realise the targeted amounts.
“Part of the strategy was the introduction of e-payments, PoS and Remita to block some leakages in the payment of revenues in the state.”
He added that 80 per cent of leakages were blocked in the payment and collection of revenue in the state.
“Last year, despite insecurity, we were able to generate N3 billion when markets and telecommunications were shutdown and this year, we are targeting N11 billion or even above by the Grace of God”.
According to him, already sensitization and enlightenment of stakeholders such as commercial motorcycles, tricycle operators and cattle sellers is on.
“We gave deadlines upto the end of 31st of January 2022 for those okada riders,Keke Napep who are yet to register with revenue board to do so for our tax collection”.
Dama maintain that payable taxes of individuals is dependent on business and personal income, while warning against illegal registration of vehicle particulars and fake plate numbers in the state.
“Avoid registering vehicles and purchase of plate numbers from unauthorized officials. The board is now determined to enhance the payment of the necessary dues to the right channel in the state”.
