The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, has unveiled a Digital Health System (DHS) mobile app to enhance healthcare service delivery.
The hospital management deployed the app to the amenity and retainership partner units to strengthen digital healthcare services.
Prof. Yusuf Jibrin, the Chief Medical Director, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday by Usman Koli, Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Unit.
He described the initiative as a major step towards a fully digital and patient-centred healthcare system.
Jibrin said the app would enable patients to book appointments, make electronic payments, receive prescriptions, set medication reminders and communicate directly with hospital support personnel.
“The app will eliminate physical queues at registration and payment points, and complement the recently introduced DHS SmartQueue System.
“The DHS system improves patient flow, reduces congestion in clinics, shortens waiting times and enhances the overall patient experience,” he said.
Jibrin reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to deploying innovative technologies to improve efficiency and simplify access to timely, quality healthcare services.
He urged amenity and retainership partners, as well as other users of the hospital’s services, to embrace the platform.
Jibrin expressed optimism that the platform would further strengthen service delivery and improve patients’ overall healthcare experience.
The unveiling was attended by representatives of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), among others.
