The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has congratulated Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki on his appointment as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin.
The Sultan described the appointment as a manifestation of divine will, noting that leadership positions are entrusted by Allah and come with great responsibility.
In a statement issued by Prince Bashir Adefaka on behalf of the Sultan’s Media Team and made available to reporters in Kaduna, the Sultan emphasized that those chosen for leadership must remain conscious of their accountability to God and the people they serve.
He stated that leadership is a sacred trust requiring dedication, wisdom, fairness, and a commitment to the welfare of the community.
The Islamic leader also commended the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for appointing the new Chief Imam.
He prayed for Allah’s guidance, wisdom, strength, and increased knowledge for Sheikh Dasuki to enable him to provide effective spiritual leadership to Islamic scholars and the Muslim community within the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
The Sultan expressed confidence that the new Chief Imam would fulfill his responsibilities diligently and contribute to peace, unity, and religious harmony.
He wished Sheikh Dasuki a successful and impactful tenure in office.
