President Bola Tinubu secured all 301,000 votes cast during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Sokoto State on Saturday.

His opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo, scored zero votes.

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu, who served as the Chief Collation Officer, announced the results after receiving reports from collation officers across the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.

According to Aliyu, the election was conducted peacefully across 3,991 polling units, and the results were thoroughly verified before the final declaration.

He explained that the APC has 329,320 registered members in Sokoto State, out of which 301,000 were accredited and participated in the exercise.

“After collating results from the 23 local government areas, President Bola Tinubu scored 301,000 votes, while Mr Stanley Osifo secured zero votes,” Aliyu declared.

The governor assured party members that the mandate delivered by APC members in the state would be transmitted to the National Collation Officer.

He also appreciated the party leader in the state, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), for his continued support and guidance to his administration and the APC in Sokoto.

Aliyu further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other stakeholders for their contributions to the successful conduct of the exercise.

Earlier, the state APC Chairman, Haruna Adiya, described the process as a demonstration of unity and commitment among APC members in the state.

He also commended the collation officers for ensuring the smooth conduct of the election across all local government areas.
