The Lagos State Government has urged members of the public, especially stakeholders in the built environment, to use its Electronic Physical Planning Permit System (e-PPPS).
The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, gave the advice during a stakeholder sensitization programme on the e-PPPS in Ikeja.
This is according to a statement issued on Saturday by Mrs Titi Oshodi-Eko, Director of the Public Affairs Department of the ministry.
Olumide said the system would enhance efficiency, accountability, and transparency in physical planning processes.
He said the digital platform was introduced to streamline physical planning processes across the state and improve service delivery in the built environment.
According to him, the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to leveraging technology to establish a fully digital infrastructure for urban management.
The official said the platform would also improve ease of doing business in Lagos State’s construction sector.
“The adoption of this platform will foster greater efficiency, accountability, and transparency in physical planning processes.
“It will also ensure that all development activities across the state comply with established regulatory standards,” the commissioner said.
He described the initiative as a significant step toward modernizing urban planning administration and reducing delays associated with manual procedures.
The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Taxation and Revenue, Mr AbdulKabir Ogungbo, commended the initiative.
Ogungbo said the platform was a strategic move to boost revenue generation and improve compliance within the built environment.
He said it was important to integrate digital solutions into governance to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure seamless service delivery.
It was reported that e-PPPS is a one-stop web-based system for all physical planning needs.
It enables users to submit applications, process approvals, obtain permits, and secure stage certifications, including building fitness certificates.
The platform allows users to complete procedures remotely without multiple visits to government offices.
