The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) on Monday said it is partnering with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to promote seamless trade and support legitimate business activities.
BACCIMA President Yahaya Idris disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Controller of the Seme Area Command of the NCS, Comptroller Abdullahi Kaila, in Seme.
Idris said the Nigeria Customs Service plays a vital role in ensuring efficient border operations as a key stakeholder in trade facilitation.
“BACCIMA is committed to working closely with your office to promote seamless trade, support legitimate businesses, and align with national and regional trade frameworks such as ECOWAS and AfCFTA,” he said.
He explained that the visit was to formally introduce the leadership of BACCIMA, strengthen institutional collaboration, and discuss areas of mutual interest, including cross-border trade facilitation, improved compliance, and support for the economic development of the Badagry corridor.
Idris also said the chamber briefed the command on its upcoming BACCIMA Trade Fair 2026, scheduled to hold at the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The theme is “Trading Without Borders: Empowering Business for Regional and Global Markets.”
Responding, Comptroller Kaila commended BACCIMA’s leadership for encouraging local production and export of goods, noting that this would boost employment and economic activities.
He pledged the command’s support for the upcoming trade fair in May and assured continued cooperation with BACCIMA.
Kaila also appreciated the visit and said the command remains ready to assist the chamber in achieving its objectives.
