The Webbify Nigeria, an Enterprise Web Project, has launched free digital solutions for Nigeria Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to accelerate digital transformation and expand business opportunities in the country.
The project was launched at a seminar entitled “Webbify Nigeria – Enterprise Web Project for MSMEs”, held on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Ashenews reports that the sensitisation programme was attended by youth groups, NGOs, cooperative societies, MSMEs, and representatives of ethnic and religious associations with vested interest in digital empowerment.
Speaking, the project’s National Coordinator, Mr Sani Isah, highlighted the urgent need for Nigerian businesses to build strong online presence to remain competitive.
Isah identified doubt, fear, suspicion, procrastination, lack of expertise, and limited funding as key barriers hindering MSMEs growth in the country.
He urged entrepreneurs to act intentionally, noting that online success required commitment and strategic planning rather than mere observation of others’ achievements.
The initiative calls on businesses to build credible identities, increase visibility across digital platforms, and gain recognition in Nigeria’s evolving digital economy.
It also aims to help MSMEs access local and international opportunities, including grants and partnerships, while driving sales, marketing, and promotions through personalised websites.
The participants were introduced to a package of digital tools available to registered members, including instant website setup, integrated hosting and domain services, and built-in SSL security certification.
Other features include social media and WhatsApp gateways, AI-powered marketing and customer targeting, as well as 99 per cent uptime with lifetime backup.
The organisers, however, warned that businesses without functional online sales platforms risk exclusion from emerging opportunities within Nigeria’s digital economy and policy frameworks such as the National Agribusiness Policy 2026.
They also noted that website development, brand building, and digital marketing have traditionally required significant investment, often beyond the reach of many MSMEs.
Accordingly, the Enterprise Web Project is designed to bridge this gap by offering affordable membership access to digital infrastructure, thereby lowering the barrier to entry.
The initiative is positioned as a catalyst for a nationwide digital revolution, enabling businesses of all sizes to compete, grow, and thrive in the modern economy.
The participants in an interview with NAN expressed enthusiasm and readiness to adopt e-commerce solutions following the seminar.
A participant, Mallam Ahmad Badamasi described the programme as timely and transformative, while Mrs Josephine Samuel urged entrepreneurs to embrace the initiative.
With MSMEs forming the backbone of Nigeria’s economy, the project is expected to drive inclusive growth, enhance digital participation, and unlock new streams of economic opportunity nationwide.
