Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has announced plans to partner with Huawei Technologies on initiatives aimed at improving security, expanding solar energy, and enhancing education in the state.
The governor disclosed this when he received a delegation from the company at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. He said the proposed collaboration would bring significant benefits to the government and residents of the state.
“After scrutinising your proposal, we will decide on specific areas to partner with. My government will work with you, especially on the key areas you mentioned, because they are very important to my administration,” Idris stated.
Huawei’s Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Kayson Young, who led the delegation, said the company had been operating in Nigeria for more than 36 years and had worked with the Federal Government, several states, and key agencies.
He explained that the firm’s partnership with Kebbi would include deploying CCTV cameras to improve security in troubled areas, supporting solar energy projects, and advancing educational development.
“We are going to do many things that will help the state in fighting corruption, addressing insecurity, promoting education, and implementing solar energy schemes,” Young added.
The partnership consultant, Mallam Abubakar Yahya-Abdullahi, also described the initiative as a step that would assist the government and its people while promoting good governance.
