The governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, told photographers in the state to start using artificial intelligence (AI) and technology. He said this so they would not fall behind others.
Governor Otu said this while starting a road walk event. The event was organized by the Cross River branch of the Professional Media Content Producers Association of Nigeria.
The road walk was part of the celebrations for World Photography Day this year. The theme of the day was “My favourite picture.”The governor was represented by Francis Ekpo, the head of the State Electrification Agency.
He said, “I congratulate you for keeping hope alive with your beautiful photos. I also encourage you to use new technology.“AI is coming. The sooner you use it, the better your future will be. The future is almost here, so be open to new ideas and don’t get left behind.
”He also told photographers to work harder because the twentieth anniversary of the Carnival Calabar is coming soon.
He said they will see things they have never seen before. The governor thanked them for helping to share the story of the carnival through their pictures.
Daniel Williams, the governor’s personal photographer, also spoke. He told photographers to use the good environment the governor has created to share the story of Cross River State.“If we don’t share our own story with our favourite pictures, no one else will do it for us.
The governor has given us a great place to take our favourite pictures and tell our story,” Williams said.
