The Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA) has officially launched the website for the IFAJ 2025 Congress

The website, https://ifaj2025.meshascience.org/ serves as the central hub for event details, registration, program updates, and insights into Kenya’s vibrant agricultural sector.

Scheduled for October 14–19, 2025, at the Boma Hotel, Nairobi, the IFAJ 2025 Congress is a landmark event, marking the first-ever edition in East, Central, West, and North Africa—with South Africa having hosted twice in 2004 and 2017.

A premier global gathering for agricultural journalists

“This prestigious global gathering will bring together top agricultural journalists and communicators to explore the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in agricultural journalism,” said Bozo Jenje, MESHA Chairman.

Since its inception in 1958, the IFAJ Congress has provided a vital platform for industry professionals to network and exchange knowledge. Aghan Daniel, MESHA Secretary and Congress Director, emphasized:

“Following successful African editions in South Africa, MESHA is proud to host the Congress in Kenya, showcasing the country’s thriving agriculture, sustainability efforts, and rich cultural heritage.”

MESHA, Africa’s leading science journalism network, has over 120 members, including 50 specialized in agricultural reporting. With two decades of experience in promoting science and agricultural journalism across Africa, MESHA is well-positioned to deliver an impactful congress.

Immersive agricultural and cultural experiences

Delegates will explore Kenya’s dynamic agricultural sector through immersive field tours, including:

  • Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) Coffee Research Institute (Ruiru, Kiambu County) – Advancements in coffee research and production.
  • Nai’posha Dairy Farm – Cutting-edge dairy technology and value chain development.
  • Harcourt Farm Limited – Innovation in black soldier fly (BSF) production, showcasing BSF larvae as a sustainable, protein-rich alternative for animal feed.

Beyond the core agricultural tours, delegates will also have the opportunity to experience Kenya’s rich wildlife, cultural heritage, and post-congress excursions to national parks and tourist attractions within a 150km radius of Nairobi, the “Green City in the Sun.”
