ASHENEWS reports that about 1,000 patients have benefited from the medical assistance provided by the Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation’s Giving Back initiative in Gwadabawa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The Chairman of the Foundation’s main committee, Malam Muhammad Lawal Mai Doki made the announcement during the inauguration of the medical outreach in Gwadabawa.

He revealed that the initiative is set to cover all 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.

“Currently, we have reached three local government areas, including Wamakko, Dange Shuni, and Bodinga. We are now in Gwadabawa and Kware, and our goal is to extend this outreach across all 23 areas,” Mai Doki explained.

He added that one million naira was allocated to purchase medicines for each local government involved in the outreach.

The Chairman disclosed that the Giving Back initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader effort to address the needs of the community, with ongoing programs that include food distribution, access to clean water, educational support, and medical assistance.

The Chairman of the medical team, Dr. Shuaibu Gobir said that the initiative include a variety of healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, Red Cross members, and laboratory scientists.

“Our team is here to diagnose and treat patients, and if any cases are beyond our capabilities, we will refer patients to hospitals in Sokoto,” Gobir stated.

The Chairman of Gwadabawa Local Government Council, Ibrahim Aliyu Sakamarun, expressed his gratitude to the Founder of the Foundation’s founder, Attahiru Bafarawa, for his impactful work.

He also encouraged beneficiaries to properly use the medicines provided and called on other influential individuals in Gwadabawa and Sokoto to follow Bafarawa’s example of giving back to the community.

The medical outreach offers a range of services, including diagnostic tests, surgeries, eye care, orthopedic treatment, psychiatric care, and general clinical services. The initiative also covers medical bills for those in need.

The Foundation’s medical outreach began last week, and it is expected to benefit up to 46,000 people across Sokoto’s 23 local government areas.
