The Kaduna State Ministry of Health has called on Medical Directors from various state General Hospitals to embrace innovative approaches to healthcare delivery.
The directive was given during a meeting convened by the ministry, which also included key health officials.
The Commissioner for Health, Umma Ahmed, stressed the importance of collaboration and the sharing of best practices among Medical Directors to improve service delivery.
She highlighted the critical need to enhance the quality of healthcare in state hospitals, noting that this would significantly impact the overall health outcomes of Kaduna residents.
Addressing the participants, the Commissioner emphasized patient-centered care as a priority.
“Our hospitals must focus on the needs and concerns of patients while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism among staff,” she stated.
She also urged the directors to prioritize continuous professional development for healthcare workers, equipping them with up-to-date skills and knowledge.

Dr. Jonathan Gajere, the Director of Medical Services, reinforced these points by underscoring the pivotal role of leadership in fostering a culture of excellence in hospitals.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both the Commissioner and the Medical Directors to improve healthcare services in Kaduna State.
Plans were also discussed for follow-up meetings and unscheduled visits to monitor progress and maintain momentum in achieving the state’s healthcare goals.
