Ahead of Bakura House of Assembly by-election in Zamfara state, the All Progressive Congress, APC, has alleged that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has planned to use thugs to destabilize the poll.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Gusau on Tuesday, the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Lawal Kaura alleged that ruling PDP had hired political thugs to destabilize the by-election.
Alerting security agencies, Kaura further alleged that the thugs, who were earlier brought in to the state, were later taken to Funtua in Katsina state.
“Our party was aware of the planned thuggery during the by-election, thugs may be transported back to the state during the period to be used by the PDP in the state”.
He maintained that APC members were law abiding and prepared for the by-election.
“I call on our teeming supporters to remain law abiding, resolute and to obey all election protocols. We are very much prepared for the by-election for Bakura House of Assembly”.
Meanwhile, some APC Governors and supporters from the national headquarters of the party, led by Jigawa state Governor, Mohammed Badaru are expected, to attend the final campaign rally in Bakura local government of Zamfara state.
