A Nigerian UK-based Software Engineer, Mr. Peter Ayeni, is set to launch a platform to train Nigerians interested in career movement from other sectors to technology sector through “Tech-Clarity”.
Ayeni, a Senior Software Engineer in one of the leading UK Companies said this at a news conference in Abuja on Sunday.
He said the idea behind Tech-Clarity coach was rooted in recognising the rapidly growing importance and influence of technology in every sector of the economy.
He said tech roles has continued to be in high demand, adding that it offers attractive opportunities for problem-solving, innovation, and high earning potential.
Ayeni however said, that transitioned into a tech career could be daunting, especially for those without a background in the field.
He said those who could take advantage of Tech-Clarity includes; those who are just starting their careers, those looking to change careers, and those who wanted to leverage on technology in their existing roles.
“Tech-Clarity coach aims to break down the barriers to entry and demystify the process of shifting to a tech career.
“It includes understanding the landscape of tech jobs, assessing personal skills and interests, navigating the job market, acquiring necessary tech skills, and building a professional portfolio, to thriving in the new tech role”, he said.
He said the objective was to provide a comprehensive resource base that would help individuals make informed decisions and equip with necessary skills and tools, to transit into a rewarding tech career.
The software engineer said the platform would increase understanding of the variety and scope of roles available within the tech sector, as well as the skills required to succeed in such roles.
Ayeni said it would also boost employability thereby contributing to reduction in unemployment and helping individuals transited into a growing and high-demand sector.
He called for partnership with government, organisations, and spirited individuals who shared in the vision of overcoming technological barriers.
“We are open to working with any entity that shares the burden of educating the next generation of techies in Nigeria and Africa”, he said.
He said the project would also guide more talented individuals into the tech industry, adding that the project hoped to contribute to the continued growth and innovation in the industrial sector of the country.
He said the platform is expected to be launched on June 24.
