The Nigerien military junta has claimed that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is not only influenced by certain foreign powers but has also “diverted from its noble missions.” Even as it regrets Nigeria’s role in decimating its exit from the west African bloc.

Jami’iyyatu Ansariddeen Attijaniyya, an Islamic organisation, has urged the Niger military junta to develop a comprehensive transition plan for the restoration of democratic governance in the country.

ASHENEWS reports that the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has warned President Bola Tinubu, and the Heads of State and Governments of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) not to escalate the situation in Niger Republic by issuing ‘unnecessary threats’ to the military junta.

In spite of the efforts of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to reinstall the ousted President Mohamed Bazoum, the military junta in Niger Republic has appointed the country’s former Minister of Economy, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, as the new prime minister.
