The Senate on Tuesday at plenary, passed the 2024 National Minimum Wage Amendment Act Bill.
The Federal Government says the proposed N6.2 trillion supplementary budgetary will be used to pay the minimum wage.
Ajaero confirmed that ₦70,000 was the current agreed amount for the minimum wage. He also mentioned that part of the discussion included an agreement that the minimum wage would now be reviewed every three years, rather than waiting five years for a review. ASHENEWS reports that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) says its members will continue to engage with key stakeholders in order to reach a mutually agreeable position on the new national minimum wage.
