A Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) sitting in Abuja has granted an application for substituted service of the interim order, restraining Multi-Choice Nigeria Limited from its plan to increase tariffs on DStv and Gotv packages beginning From May 1.
However, the CCPT issued a ruling on Monday preventing MultiChoice from implementing its planned price hikes and increases for products and services set to take effect on May 1st.
MultiChoice confirmed that Emmanuel TV, founded by the late Nigerian televangelist Temitope Babatunde Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua, would be removed from the DStv and GOtv platforms as well as StarSat and other pay-TV providers from January 17.
