The Federal Government says it has cut down expenditures for the upcoming COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, to save the government about N10 billion from the 11-day event, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale disclosed in Abuja on Tuesday.

The new data, released to Carbon Brief via freedom-of-information (FOI) requests, reveals how “international climate finance” (ICF) was dispersed in the financial year 2023-24. This builds on larger Carbon Brief analysis tracking ICF spending back to 2011.
