TEXEM, UK has announced a new training programme to help Nigerian leaders manage challenges with confidence, clear thinking, and strong strategies. This comes at a time when political tensions and economic uncertainty are growing worldwide.
The four-day residential programme, called “Leading Effectively in an Increasingly Geopolitically Strained World,” will take place in Leeds, United Kingdom, from August 18 to 21.
The training is designed for senior executives, board members, policymakers, and top public officials. It aims to help leaders move from reacting to problems to making proactive, well-planned decisions that create value even in uncertain times.
Caroline Lucas, Director of Special Projects at TEXEM, UK, described the programmed as urgent and important.
“This is not business as usual. Leaders in Nigeria and other developing economies must rise above today’s challenges and plan for long-term resilience. Our programmed is designed to be strategic, practical, and transformational,” she said.
The programme will share the latest global leadership insights while focusing on the real experiences of African leaders. It will cover issues like unstable currency, loss of public trust, rapid digital change, brain drain, weak institutions, and poor governance.
Instead of seeing these as problems alone, TEXEM says they can also be opportunities for growth and innovation when approached strategically.
The training will be led by an experienced international faculty.
Speakers include Prof. Nic Cheeseman, a well-known expert on democracy and governance who previously worked at Oxford University and now teaches at the University of Birmingham.
Also speaking will be Dr. T. B. (Mac) McClelland Jr., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Chair of The Luxury Council International, and John Peters, a former RAF fighter pilot and bestselling author known for his lessons on leadership during the Gulf War.
The programme will use simulations, case studies, role-playing, group strategy sessions, and reflection periods.
Participants will also visit a major UK tourist destination for cultural learning and informal networking in a relaxed environment.
The focus will be on turning learning into action. Topics include crisis communication, strategic negotiation, organizational oversight, and building strong teams.
TEXEM has a strong record in training African leaders. Past participants have praised its methods for being relevant and effective.
Ibrahim Ahmed, COO of Tawada Nigeria Ltd, called a previous programme “one of the best I’ve ever attended.”
Otunba Sonya Ogunkuade, Special Assistant to the President, said, “The practical examples and insights were unlike anything I’ve experienced.”
Niyi Toluwalope, CEO of eTranzact Group, also praised the combination of world-class speakers and innovative ideas.
The full cost of the programme is £5,500, which includes five nights’ stay at Hilton Leeds, tuition, study materials, and certification.
An early payment discount reduces the fee to £4,300 for payments made on or before August 9.
TEXEM says this programme will help Nigerian leaders not just survive global challenges, but become stronger and more adaptable.
