The Managing Director of Alpha Geek Technologies, Mr. Seun Dania, has commended the Federal Government for its commitment to advancing e-governance and digital transformation across Nigeria.
Dania described the move as a bold step toward modernizing public service delivery and strengthening transparency and efficiency in governance.
Speaking in an interview with reporters on Sunday in Lagos, he said the government’s ongoing digital reforms were improving access to essential services and fostering accountability in public administration.
He noted that the National Digital Economy and e-Governance Bill, currently before the National Assembly, would provide a comprehensive legal framework for Nigeria’s growing digital economy. The Bill covers key areas such as electronic transactions, data protection, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
According to him, the legislation would accelerate and improve governance in new and innovative ways.
“The current administration’s drive for e-governance is commendable and forward-thinking. It shows that the government recognizes technology as the foundation for effective governance in the 21st century,” Dania said.
“Digital transformation is not just about convenience; it is about accountability. When processes are automated, it becomes harder for corruption and inefficiency to thrive. What we are witnessing now is a gradual but steady shift toward a system where citizens can engage the government easily and receive timely responses.”
Dania also urged stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to sustain progress in Nigeria’s digital economy.
“Government cannot achieve e-governance alone. The private sector must be part of the conversation to share expertise, infrastructure, and innovation.
“Public-Private Partnerships will fast-track the adoption of smart technologies that can enhance public administration and service delivery. This collaboration will also create new opportunities for startups and young innovators to contribute to nation-building through technology,” he added.
He further stressed the importance of capacity building among civil servants to ensure the sustainability of ongoing digital reforms.
“No digital system can succeed without capable hands managing it. We must invest heavily in training government workers to use new tools effectively.
“Beyond technology, e-governance is about mindset — embracing openness, data-driven decision-making, and citizen engagement,” Dania said.
