The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) has shortlisted the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) for the 2025 Golden World Awards (GWA).

The announcement comes ahead of IPRA’s 70th anniversary celebrations in Accra, Ghana, from October 1–3, 2025. The three-day event will also feature the GWA Gala, the inauguration of IPRA’s first African president, and the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Public Relations Ghana.

NCS and IMPR were nominated in the publications category, continuing their successful run on the global PR stage. In 2024, they won in Belgrade, Serbia, with a campaign titled “100 Days of Impactful PR at Customs Service”, recognised in the Crisis Management category.

Under Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi—recently elected President of the World Customs Organisation—the NCS has leveraged strategic communication to boost revenue, enhance transparency, and strengthen border security.

IMPR, a multi-award-winning PR and media firm, is known for its work in crisis communication, reputation management, and fact-checking. It publishes platforms such as PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and Spokespersons Digest.

The Golden World Awards, established in 1990, are regarded as the global benchmark for PR excellence. This year’s conference, themed “Global Realities and Innovative Communication”, will spotlight PR and artificial intelligence, as well as communication on sustainability and climate change.

Keynote speakers include former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, Esther A.N. Cobbah of IPR Ghana, Arik Karani of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), and Nataša Pavlović Bujas, President of IPRA.

The recognition of NCS and IMPR reflects a broader trend of Nigerian institutions gaining international acclaim for innovative and impactful public relations campaigns.
