President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The President has also approved the appointment of Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as member of the commission.
This is contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale.
The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Other members of the Police Service Commission will be appointed in due course.
The Police Service Commission is responsible for the appointment, promotion and discipline of persons (other than the office of the Inspector-General of Police) in the Nigeria Police Force.
In the vein, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) with immediate effect.
The President expects absolute demonstration of integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of these important functions for the overall well-being of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
Among the responsibilities of the Trust Fund are to promote the holistic improvement in the performance and efficient discharge of the duties and responsibilities of the Nigeria Police Force, and ensure that state-of-the-art equipment, machines and operational vehicles are provided for the Nigeria Police Force to enhance its optimal performance.
