A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Niger state, Nma Kolo has advised the party to consider fairness and balance when zoning top positions of the Senate to deserving zones.
Giving the advice when Niger APC youths paid him Sallah homage in Minna, Nma Kolo said in particular, the North-Central had played a very important role in the electoral victory of the party and its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He pointed out that rule of ordinary decency, fairness and justice demands that the zone that made massive sacrifices for the success of the APC in the last elections, should eminently be deserving to be sufficiently rewarded.
“The North-Central gave the most votes to the President-elect in particular and worked to ensure the dominance of the party in the Zone which used to be an opposition stronghold.
“Other sections of the country have contributed in their little ways as well which is why I am urging the APC to be prudent in zoning the legislative positions so the legitimate claimants are not denied in the process.
He said as a Nigerlite, he would personally vouch for Senator Sani Musa also from Niger State but he would want to see a level playing ground allowed all the contenders so at the end of the process, Nigeria would witness a superb, pragmatic and focused Senate for once.
