The Niger Delta PDP Youth League yesterday lashed at Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, warning that his remarks on former Niger Governor, Babangida Aliyu capable of weakening the Party’ regained strength in the North.
A statement signed by the PDP-YL publicity Secretary Donald C. Rigz said the PDP family should be wary of Wike’s deliberate destabilization antics lest he destroys the party before finally leaving it.
The League warned that Wike is acting like script of the All Progressives Party by becoming an irritant to genuine moves to rebuild its capacity to reclaim power in 2023.
“It is dangerous for genuine PDP members to sit by and watch the Party go under during Wike”s leadership that is characterized by political brigandage and tactless approach to critical party matters.
“It is no longer secret that Wike’s poor management of the party affairs and his unguarded utterances and bullying behavior have been frustrating many resourceful members and leaders out of the Party.
“Already he had ensured that the the PDP has suffered monumental losses in the South East and South South and now targeting the North to achieve the final weakening of the party before leaving.
“For the avoidance of doubt, party leaders such as Babangida Aliyu who against all odds remained loyal to the PDP all through the hurricane of the last six years ought not be allowed to be toyed with by militants like Wike,” the Youth League noted.
