ASHENEWS reports that the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris has dissolved the Kebbi State Executive Council whose members were earlier appointed by his predecessor.
Also dissolved were members of agencies and parastatals, including all political appointees who served under the past administration.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris said that the dissolution was with immediate effect.
“All appointments are based on merit and the track records of the appointees. The appointments are with effect from 29th May 2023.
“The executive Governor challenges the appointees to see their appointments as a call to service and to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them. He wishes them the best in the discharge of their patriotic services to the state and the nation,” the statement said.
Similarly, the governor announced six new appointments, including his Chief of Staff and the Secretary to the State Government.
