“I am ready and open to an investigation to all of these allegations against me after which I hope appropriate hands of the law will be applied on anyone found making false representations that are capable of disrupting the peace and tranquility enjoyed by the good people of Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal constituency, Sokoto state and Nigeria in General”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate candidate for Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency for 2023 General Election, Nasiru Shehu Bodinga has described an allegation by the House of Representatives member for Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency against him as not only grievous but also misguided.

Kakale had labeled several allegations against the APC candidate, including the use of security personnel to intimidate supporters.

MIS

However, Bodinga in a statement titled: “GUIDED AND GRIEVOUS ALLEGATIONS ON HON. NASIRU SHEHU BODINGA, APC CANDIDATE FOR 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS INTO THE OFFICE OF MEMBER HOUSE OF REPS FOR BODINGA-DANGE/SHUNI/TURETA FED CONSTITUENCY BY HON MEMBER BALARABE SHUHU KAKALE, MFR”, said he was open for investigation made against him by Kakale.

Read the statement below:

1. My attention has been drawn to a Press Release by Hon. Member representing Bodinga/ Dange-Shuni/ Tureta Federal Constituency, Hon. Balarabe Shehu Kakale MHR where he made very grievous and weighty allegations about my person describing me as “reckless, multiple violator of extant laws of the federation such as Police Act, Prohibition of Money laundering Act, VAPP Act, Child Rights Act, the Human Rights Act, the CBN Act” and so on. He also accused my convoy of “harboring drugs, loaded dangerous weapons and harboring touts and area boys”. He further accused me of using the names of highly respected public officers including Hon. Minister of Police affairs, and the present Inspector general of police and also uses security officers, especially the police to coerce and intimidate whomever I wished.

2. These and other similar insidious allegations would have been ignored by me since we believed they were done in bad faith to smear my good name and threaten me to discontinue the good efforts we are making to alleviate the sufferings and misrepresentations of the kind Hon. Kakale offered to his constituents. The wide circulation given to the release is also of great concern bearing in mind that all important institutions of government and personalities have been copied hence the need for a refutal.

3. Hon. Kakale first accused me of causing the death of two people namely Yakubu Abubakar and Tsalha Haruna and injuries to so many others though he could mention only one Rabo Hantsi Dabo and Bello Abubakar on Sunday, 20th October 2022, more than a month ago. To the best of my recollection, I cannot remember, either myself or any of our convoys getting involved in any road accident along Tureta – Sokoto road or any other road for that matter. But since security agents may have the records of all road accidents the facts should be cross- checked.

4. Again he alleges that on 13th July, 2022 during the House of Assembly re-run election at Bodinga, I used security agents to disperse delegates using life bullets and tear gas. This is a baseless allegation because neither I nor any of my people was at a re-run election held recently in Bodinga. In fact my investigation has shown that no re-run election was held in Bodinga into any elected office recently. But Hon. Kakele may have the facts of the re-run election he is referring to.

5. In yet another wild allegation, Hon. Member Kakale stated that sometimes in August, 2022 I ordered the arrest of, beating and detention of some unnamed youths by security agents when I visited Palace of His Highness the District head of Bodinga. By Allah’s grace, the respected Royal Highness is still alive, and or any other community leader who may be contended to confirm the true position.

6. The Hon. Member further alleges that at the APC primaries which was held in Bodinga on 28th May, 2022 which I won as the candidate of our party in the 2023 general elections for Bodinga/ Dange-Shuni/ Tureta Federal Constituency, I instructed security operatives to shoot at delegates at the election, arrested and detained some of them. For the records, that election was adjudged to be the most peaceful, fair and free election with no any security threat throughout its conduct. This is justified by the fact that none of

party

9. As an upright politician, I am ready and open to an investigation to all of these allegations against me after which I hope appropriate hands of the law will be applied on anyone found making false representations that are capable of disrupting the peace and tranquility enjoyed by the good people of Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta Federal constituency, Sokoto state and Nigeria in General.

10. I also plead that the outcome of the investigation be made public and given the wide circulation accorded the Hon. Kakale’s press release for information of the general public.

11. Thank you

Hon. Nasiru Shehu Bodinga
